How has God used you today?
I just had a Bible study with members of the CLA, and Mark Anschutz told a story he remembered about Marxhausen. Reinhold used to tell his students that they were tools in God's hands, and he'd ask them "How has God used you today?" If an artist has a good tool, he uses it a lot, to the point the tool becomes well-worn and very familiar. A tool is not made to just sit in a toolbox, ready to work, but not being used.

Book Review in SCI

In addition to a collection of videos produced by Marxy, Link library has these resources as well: a book entitled Seeds from the Sower: Responses to the Parables of Jesus which includes art by Marxhausen and several other CUNE art faculty; Seward Drawings by Karl Marxhausen, which also includes a note thanking his dad; and a vinyl record of the sounds created by sculptures by several notable artists in the field, including Marxy.

Marxhausen in the Broadcaster
The Broadcaster is CUNE's official magazine. The 2010 Winter issue featured a story on the event honoring Reinhold Marxhausen. It has great photos and a description of the event. You can view it online at the school's website. The story is on page 34. Here is the URL:

Updated info on Burnt Wood
Many of Marxy's mosaics, including the one hanging in the Janzow campus center, feature burned pieces of natural wood. These five pieces show Marxhausen's experiments with burning wood.

Notes on the Paintings
These paintings, watercolors, and other works were scanned or photographed by the inestimable Amber Konz. I'm uploading the photographs as well as any information on the works' titles, sizes, or years created. Konz got this information from the Marxhausen Gallery located on CUNE campus.
